Hello,

We are resurrecting a Beechcraft 3NM CA-274 and we would like to make her as original as possible.

She is in pretty good condition and still retains her radio racks and is essentially unaltered from when she left the service.

I am looking for copies of the production drawings or blueprints for the Canadian 3 series aircraft. They may be in microfilm format. Is there a source in Canada for such documentation? We have the microfilm for the USAF C-45 series but nothing for the 3NM. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here are a few shots of her when she was still in service, on her way out and on the way here. Should you have any additional photos or information about this Beech please let me know.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Thank you!

Boy, I wish I could help.

My uneducated suggestions might include contacting the Canadian Aviation Museum in Ottawa. Give them a call and they might be able to point you in the right direction.

I did a quick search of the museum's online photo archives and came up with nothing for your exact airplane.

I found a little bit of information on Bill Walker's site as to the history of the airplane. By knowing the squadrons it served with, you might be able to find a generic squadron paint scheme and just alter it accordingly for 1588.

http://www.ody.ca/~bwalker/RCAF_post_15 ... ailed.html (scroll down to 1588)

It looks like she was taken on strength by the Royal Canadian Navy 12 March 1953. Served on both coasts and then ended with the RCAF in Quebec. Nice little history with her, I'd say.

By the way, it looks like from the first image there, that you'll have some fun reproducing the beautiful native art on the nacelles.

Maybe that'll help.

Cheers,

David
