Greetings
I was going over some photos that I took at a open House at Carswell AFB in Fort Worth Texas in 1980 when the Tunder Birds were preforming and that was my FIRST taste of the CAF and Tora !Tora !Tora ! Was more excited of seeing Texas Raiders and Diamond Lil than the T Birds , Sorry for the rambeling........................any way the B-52 56-0679 Yellow Rose was their on Display Is she gone or still in Storage ?

If she was a D model she's probably long gone. I believe they chopped all those up in the early '90s. :cry:

Baugher's site lists that aircraft as being scrapped. No date is listed.

AUuuuuuuuuuuHHHHhhhhhhhhh :shock: Well after looking at the Photos this might be the same one 8) Do we know if their is any info on what SAC base that she was at in the late 70's early 80's ? The plane that I saw had Yellow Rose on both sides of the Cock pit and a Big single Yellow Rose :wink:

No, it was scrapped when the museum closed. A friend of mine who still works for Lockheed sat in his car and watched a bulldozer tear her apart on his lunch hour. Very sad indeed. Why couldn't it have been saved.?! I could ask him if he remembers when exactly it was if anyone is interested...

Well it was nice dream while it lasted :? That is just wrong that when a Museum closes that most likely if the Gov is part of it then DESTROY it so nobody can injoy it else where :x
