This SA-16A was transferred to Taiwan and shot down in 1966 by Chinese MiGs while on rescue mission (transporting defectors)

alot of good war horses, but the p-51h looks as if it had liposuction!! i don't like them asthetically.

My three favorites are the C-82, C-46, and that cool 28th Strategic Recon. Wing C-47 out of Rapid City. The only thing I'd ever seen the Triangle S on before was the RB-36s.

I'm really enjoying these pics!

It looks like Airman VanDyke is standing next to a very early P-86 or one of the very first F-86's because behind the tape, it's got gun doors which didn't last too long due to either jamming open , or not opening when the .50's were fired. Ben Halls P-86A (c/n either 6 or 12) had gun doors but I believe they got replaced by a subsequent owner

Also note the RB-25D (previously F-10), serial looks like 43-3376 or 43-3378 - you can just barely see the bulged photo ports on the lower nose, like on 43-3374 before it was converted to a B model for the NMUSAF.

I own a modified version of the that very helmet that the F-86 driver is wearing in my collection. It was made in 1948 firstly and is rare as flying B-29 in some cases... Some P-1 helmets can go as high as $5000 US in brand new condition if still found.

Y'all like these, ya gotta get out here to the Wings over the Rockies museum (based in one of the old hangars) and see the REST of the collection...a pretty great place!!
