Warbird Information Exchange

I have developed a keen interest in the RMAF since
visiting the KL museum three times. I have a database
of most aircraft types but need help with their version of
the SH-3 Sea King or Nuri (Parrot) as the Malay word
names them.

There was about 40 odd delivered in the 60's and I'm
interested in obtaining the serial numbers if possible.

Any info you can give me about the museum would be much appreciated, as I'm in KL for a few days next week and am hoping to visit. Is there anything else aviation-wise worth seeing in or very close to KL?

In my opinion it is one of the best air museums I have been too!!
I met my wife in KL so it is a special place for me, so whenever
I visit my in-laws I make a B-line for the museum.

I'm at my office right now so I'll write you an address later,
not many cabbies in KL know how to get there even though
in its right in KL central city!!
Aircraft are: DHC-4 Caribou, SA-16 Albatross, 2x Tutor jet trainers,
A-4PTM Skyhawk, 2x F-86F Sabre (Avon), Harvard Mk. IIb,
Bell 47G, Westland Wasp, Scottish Pioneer / Twin Pioneer.
DH Dove / Devon, heaps of RMAF equipment etc.

Other places of interest in KL is the old KL Intl. Airport terminal
at Subung, closed in 1997-98. Empty terminal was accessible in 2003
and everything is still as is - even magazines of the period on
shelves, amazing!!! Sorry didn't ake any pictures.
This airport is the base for the RMAF C-130 fleet and royal
VIP aircraft.

The Uni. of Technology in Subang Jaya has a Skyhawk gate

Food in KL is great - tip: always only eat at FULL restaurants.

Tell me if the junkyard is still there when you visit,
had a heap of wrecks including an Augusta 109,
F-86? and F-5E - with instrument panel still in place!!

Its also the base of the Nuri's I'm interested in, last
time I was there they were revving the h*ll out of
the engines on one in the manintainece area.
