Warbird Information Exchange

I just looked up the Shrike on Google. I didn't know the AAF flew the Helldiver. Anyone have any pics? (besides the yellow winged prototype?)

I know that the NMUSAF changed a few things that they wanted to be able to operate on the aircraft, so it was going to take a little while longer to get these systems working, but when complete will make the aircraft more accurate. There is a spot for the aircraft to be parked in the WWII Hangar.

When I get home I'll post a couple of A-25 pictures I found while researching my book. Every 2AF bomber base had a couple as utility aircraft. How would you like to have something like that to play with sitting on the flight line?

I'm working on finding him some E junction boxes and twenty or so toggle switches in my pile of turret parts. He said something about telling the AFM to *%# up a rope. He's going to keep the plane and race it a Reno next year. After a twelve pack of Bud, I almost had him convinced to trade me the plane (it was after all built here in St. Louis, right?) for the hangar full of turret parts. Next time I'll try a twelve pack of Michelob.

Seeing a Helldiver at Reno would be pretty funny. Not exactly the most graceful looking bird.
