I vaguely remember a topic on WIX about F6F remains on a beach someplace near Cape Canaveral. It might have been 2+ years since the thread was discussed. This wreck is also mentioned in Andy Marden's book "USA - Military Out of Service" and mentions it is on the Canaveral National Seashore and it is the remains of an F6F target on a former gunnery and bombing range. If I remember correctly the site is still accessible to the public for those who are prepared to hike some distance.

I would like to try and find the site using Google Earth. Does anyone have any idea where this site is? Has anyone here on WIX been there?

Mike
