took the train all the way from London to go to an aero jumble there right after they opened the doors. I think the only plane they had complete was the meteor at the time. they were at the end of the old field next to the access road and we hiked down to the old control tower. I actually felt the hair prickle on my neck as I climbed around the tower...it had a feeling of history to it, my wife even felt it!
there was a really nice pub close by with a spitfire theme and a great sign outside. Ill have to see if I can find the old slides I took while there.
thanks for rejuvenating the memory! Chichester cathedral was also interesting as it was built on an old roman villa and you can see some of the exposed mosaic floor tiles they discovered during some renovation.
