Hey, We were there about 3 weeks ago.
We didnt spend alot of time in the area, the museum was wonderful. It was overcast that day and the runway out back wasnt very busy.
The only activity we saw was a P-3 and an F-18. In April I would assume the BA's will be practicing during the week. We went on a Saturday, and we did not get to go into the shop to see the Coronado. The hour or so drive over to Hurlburt/Eglin yields a museum and a neat airpark. I hear the Battleship park in Mobile was a drive we should have made too.
We also did not do any of the IMAX movies at the museum, too many other things to do. The construction of the new building will be happening in the near future, a large donation from the owner of a large rental car company was a big help. And dont forget lunch at the Cubi Bar!

We stayed in the Days Inn in downtown Pensacola for the night that we were there. One Bug, alot of cheaply repaired damage to the room, and a bit of noise made it a place I would not go back to. The Wafflemaker in the lobby was enough to redeem the hotels shortcomings, and I guess the fact that we were checking out right after breakfast and never going back made me feel better. It wasnt my best priceline score ever.
(I didnt tell Shannon about the "Palmetto Bug" in the bathroom until we were out of there)

K.L.
