Matt,
# 10 was serial # 36-155*. used by Major Bob Olds from May of 1937; it took part in the goodwill tour of South America in 1938, was written off in Jan of 1943.

The reason I ask is I found a photo album that was being thrown out and inside were photos from the 1938 National air race, and there are 3 photos of a Y1B-17, BB10.

I have alot more photos to scan........ a B-18, several racers, and there are even some wartime P-39 and P-40 shots

Matt,

Thanks for sharing those pictures. Imagine the number of similar priceless pictures that have been lost for all time in some dumpster because none of us was aware of, or able, to save them. The YB-17 is one of my pet projects, and I couldn't be happier!

Notice that the cowling segments are painted in varying colors--I believe this was the Commanding Officer's airplane and each color represents a different Squadron. Anyone have the correct info?

Excellent photos, I'd love to see more from that collection.

The copyright notice is annoying though, and also bogus -- you ain't got no copyright in those photos.

Great to see photos like this saved.

I love to see the stuff from the attics.

Scott,
That is correct. According to Freeman, Major Olds was the CO at that time.
