Hi Gary,

This may be complete ancient history, but the last confirmed location I have for 37250 (Fat Cat II) is Lafayette, Louisiana in January, 2004. Two A&P friends went to examine her there, and basically found her sans engines and rotting away alongside N6853C. Fat Cat II had access panels removed and was open to the elements; spar corrosion and wildlife habitation both being evident. :?

Owner at that time was apparently one Joey LaRue. I do not have contact info.

Thanks Dan,

There are a few PV-2s listed as being in Lafayette, New Orleans, and Opelousas, La. The Pvs seemed to get shuffled around the country, and appear here..there...everywhere...that's what makes some of these birds so elusive...

I bought an engine last month that came off of the last PV-2 (D model) built...but nobody seems to know what happened to the rest of the aircraft...I have a set of landing gear that I got with the engine, but who knows if it's from the same airframe?

Gary, you do know that 37262 (the original FAT CAT) was destroyed by fire back in 1990, right?

Dan,

That was the PV that the starter hung up and over heated, causing it's demise in Conroe, Tx. right?...

I thought I read on a thread, that at one time both Fat Cat, and Fat Cat II, were seen at the same airshow/gathering??? Maybe it was two different PVs

Thanks ...Gary

I may be way off here, but I was under the impression that FAT CAT TOO was operated as a replacement aircraft by the same bunch that lost FAT CAT. Their being at the same airshow doesn't make much sense.

Have you been to the following link? Scroll through for pics of several Harpoons that were operating in the '90's.

Gary, are you involved with a Harpoon or is it just your fave warbird?
