Certainly, this is a photoshop fake. If you stick your nose up against the screen, you can even catch a whiff of that lovely odor.

No swimming in the ocean for a while. All that brown stuff just got washed out of the sky!

For those that have never been to Chino on a clear day, yes, even though you may not have ever seen them there are in fact mountains out there!

I heard you folks had a bit of "sky clearing" rain this weekend. I guess it's fires and mud slides for the Left Coast. Yikes!

Brandon, why be shy with your watermark? There's a great California precedent...

I actually saw the mountains from Chino one winter day...

A unique experience indeed!

Funny story...the first time I was in California, 1973 at the Ontario Motor Speedway, I bet a fellow crewman that told me there were mountains right behind the racetrack. $50 and a huge thunderstorm later, there was this same shot but with the racetrack in the foreground.

I still think it is the best set of props on rails and they just wheel it in when needed.

On a good day, I could watch finals at LAX from my apartment in Redondo Beach.

Who says Chino Airport is dusty and smells bad?

Uhm . . . everyone? : )

Besides, your great photo does not address the dust and smell issues : )

Saludos!

You need days like this to clean up the piles of dirt and/or smelly mud deposited by the wind and rain that cleared up to give you the postcard day.
It will help clear your mind of thoughts of being sore, tired and oissed off after sweeping, shoveling and mucking your hangar all day on your flying/working day off.
One of the wierdest things I remember is maybe 77 when Euclid had been closed by flooding down towards Hwy 71. Corona Airport had flooded as well. As the waters receded they opened Euclid but the water still was up to the roadway on either side. Driving home from Chino late on a Saturday after working at POF I still remember the moon, low on the horizon reflecting off the water giving you the illusion you were flying. You couldn't see any land or trees, just a black void off to each side. Only the center lines on the road gave any contrast.

What Brandon forgot to mention is that he cropped the photo significantly... here is the original!

MOOve over cause The Bovines are a disappearing breed in the Chino area.
A few years ago that would have been a real photo. My favorite sign a few miles from Chino read- "Our Cows are Outstanding in their fields". Now its a dirt field a few months ago when I was there.
