Very cool picture. That's a really early -1 too, as it doesn't have the modifed canopy with the bulge in the top and rear armor plating. Do you know anything more about it. Is a Bu.No. visible?

F4U-1 on a acceptance test flight.
The B/N is a 2" high in the verticle stabilizer.

Yep I got a copy of it too !
When I used to Chef for the VIP's at TXI in Dallas TX. A maintance guy that worked at Vought during the War gave me a copy of that one and some photos the VMF-214 and some photos Corsair II in the early testing stages as well .
