A blast from the past. This is an old silent 8mm movie I took from one of the Breckenridge airshows back in the 80's. The quality sucks, but there are some neat little nuggets in this. enjoy

Thanks for sharing those ol' home movies, Pat! Man, seeing that footage brought back some great memories. I was there somewhere myself. I only missed two years of Breckenridge shows, both times because I was sick in bed! Going to Breckenridge was an annual male-bonding ritual for me and some of my buddies. Sickness and death were the only reasons for missing the trip!

Some of my favorite Breckenridge moments:

One year, there were eight B-25s on hand (at that time, it was the largest gathering of Mitchells since the filming of Catch 22).

Another year, there were 16 P-51s on hand, and they flew a simulated fighter sweep over the airfield (still the largest number of 'Stangs that I've ever seen in person).

Another time, the USAF BONE'd us! (B-1B flying demonstration)

The warbird turnout was considered to be disappointing if there were less than 150 warbirds on hand. Typically, it was more like TWO HUNDRED.

Yep, there were five Corsairs on the ramp in Pat's film.

There will never be another gathering like "Beercanridge".

Cheers!

I remember going to a couple myself... Why'd they quit?
