Warbird Information Exchange

I have been reviewing the various videos, DVDs, and books in my collection of Doolittle Raid - related items, and have come to the conclusion that there's actually quite a bit of film available somewhere, or in different places. I'm trying to pinpoint WHERE the films are, and how I could go about obtaining higher quality versions (than the DVDs or VHSs that I have) or stills from the various bits of film that were obviously taken. If anyone knows where I should start the search, or has access to such films, I would HIGHLY appreciate it. I've been doing a bit of research lately, and am pretty close to putting out a corrected and updated profile for at least one of the aircraft, with supporting photographic evidence, as well as a page pointing out overlooked details of interest to serious modelers.
One place I'd like to know more about is the San Diego Aero-Space Museum - which is credited for a bunch of the stills in the book The Doolittle Raid by Duane Shultz.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would start any search with the usual suspects:

- National Archives
- NASM
- Maxwell repository
- Air Force Museum, etc.

Also, I don't know if it would help, but have you ever seen the "War Stories" series on Fox? They've had a Doolittle's episode on in the past. Go to the Fox website, buy the DVD and look at the credits at the end. This will give you huge clues as to where they obtained all of the film footage.
