Seems folks across the pond in UK have hit a BIG snag in returning the Vulcan to air.

They currently need $150,000 GBP more to ensure she reflies and then STRUGLING to find a ongoing $50,000 GBP a month.

Seems the Vulcan could become the world biggest and most scariest white elephant warbird candidate potential if SOMONE or SOME sponsors are not found soon.

Currently over $6.5m has been spent on the warbird and so far it needs ALOT more.

This is a shame.. someone has obviously stuffed the books and assumed that sponsors would be coming in and helping but the reality is the complete opposite ... and hence all the work may still be for zilch in the end.

Guess they should just leave her as a ground running bird for now and until funds are adequate then fly her. Anyone would be happy to see a running vulcan over a dead one surely.

Really beats me how anyone in UK wants to throw $50,000 a month away unless they get the world biggest adverstsing sign at airshows some how eh?

I love the Vulcan and I was fortunate enough to see one fly during it's service in the RAF, but dang, how much better could $ 6.5 Million have been spent? For that price, they could have restored a Halifax to flying condition, or returned 2 Me-110's to flying condition, or any number of other rare warbirds. I hate to say it, but I think the money could have been spent in a lot better areas. Even if they get the sponsorship, it will be a HUGE money pit well into the future.
