C-47 Serial Number Blocks

Looking for someone who knows how the serial blocks work out for the C-47's. I.E.... 43-xxxx to 43-xxxxx were D models. And there specs. I am looking at buying one and want to know more about c-47's. Im a bomber / fighter guy, transport is a new subject. Any help? Im all ears about c-47's.
