I'm looking for units and bases of ANG units who operated Mustangs after the war and into the 50's in Wisconsin, Illinois and Indiana.
Thanks,
David

I know the 122nd operated out of Baer Field in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Pretty cool markings too!

David,

Of course, here in cheeseland two ANG units operated the P-51: The 126th FS at Mitchell Field in Milwaukee, and the 176th FS at Truax Field in Madison.

Milwaukee native, former Checkertail Clansman, and friend-gone-west Paul Dowd was one of the original pilots with the 126th, and later commanded the outfit after a tour in Korea in F-80's.
