PV-1s and P-38s

Mon Jan 07, 2008 10:33 pm

Greetings All -

I'm helping the Prairie Aviation Museum in Bloomington. IL by starting to scan photos that have been donated to them over the years. I stated off with an envelope of Pacific Theater images donated by someone which have no info with them at all.

Here's some PV-1 and P-38 images from that first batch. The file name is all I've found so far (in this case, basically what I've gleaned from the photo itself. Any and all help gladly accepted and appreciated if anyone can add more to the info!

Enjoy the Day! Mark

Great stuff Mark!
Both P-38s are from the 44th FS 18th FG 13th AF and were flown by good friends of mine.
#419 was a P-38J flown by Capt Bill Starke who wrote the 44th FS history "Vampire Squadron he lives in Ft Atkinson, WI.
#412 was a P-38J flown by Capt George Seeberg who was a big time skier. He lives in Carson City, NV.
