All-

I just returned from a private tour of the Spirit of Flight Center in Lafayette, CO that is run by our WIX friend Gordon Page, and I have to say, that man sure is taking the bull by the horns when it comes to educating the public about warbirds! His focus is on educating the younger crowd, thus continuing the legacy. He's got many fun and interesting ways to get the kids hooked, it was very impressive! The artifacts alone are amazing (including over 500 vintage artifacts, such as a great Stuka spinner and a prop off of a 109F) and all have a great story behind them that Gordon was more than happy to share with me. They have some exciting stuff planned for the future, but I will allow Gordon to reveal that when the time is right  If you haven't been out to Lafayette to see this little piece of heaven, give it a shot, it's definitely worth the trip! Hats off to Gordon Page, a true lover of old flying machines, and the wonderful work he and his crew are doing to make sure our future knows about our amazing aviation past. For more info about the museum, be sure to check out their website:

Thanks again for a memorable morning Gordon! Definitely won't be the last you see of me!

Hafta get down there and take a look at it! Have seen the Messer (one of them ) he recovered in Russia a number of years ago at Jeffco on the hangar floor and am really looking forward to the full blown facility when it opens, but should probably take a gander at this place sometime in the near future....and I'll be dragging Denise along, you can bet...

I have to get up to Lafayette and check this place out.
Gordon's book was definitely worth reading.
I need to set aside some time to do this.
