A while back there was a pretty famous pilot killed, and I was trying to research it, and can't remember who it was?

That would be Marion Carl.... a true and senseless tragic end to a wonderful hero.

Heart breaking- a true hero to the very end. Two aircraft at the Naval Aviation Museum have his name, a F7F and the Skystreak.

Carl also flew the New England Air Museum's XF4U-4 during testing.

Interesting, I wonder how many other allied pilots got up in a 162?

We had a Pearl Harbor Survivor killed here recently by a home intruder.

My dad had a friend, WWII USMC found someone in his bedroom robbing him. They got in a tussle, and the vet plugged the bad guy. Bad guy sues... and wins.

What state did this happen in??? In Oregon if someone breaks into your home you have the right to use any force, up to and including lethal force to deter the criminal. I got this straight from the county district attorney himself.

Your incident sounds like it happened in New Jersey or Massachusetts.
