After reading some excerpts in Air Classics this month, I think I just might have to have this one. 8)

Hi Maxum, the copy for the flyer was from Punchy Powell, author of the book and pilot with the 352nd during WWII. The story I heard was that Goering was overheard muttering "Those bastards in the Bluenosed Mustangs" which took off from there.

Are you going to Columbus in September for the 352nd Reunion and the Gathering of Mustangs and Legends? Send me an email: todd@352ndfightergroup.com.

Cheers

Yes, it is a brand new book. The first was ore of a history of the group with lots of photographs, this is more of a collection of their stories from war from various pilots, with lost of photographs. The first - now out of print - book has been seen on EBay for $400 recently. Buy two of this one! If you're a fan of the group and their history, this is a must have!

Bob Powell is a neat guy. He and Sam Sox tracked down a photo of the father of a friend's wife. He went MIA in P-51D 'Lil Evey' (I think) over the Channel, clean chute but never recovered. She was born a week after his crash and had never seen a photo of her father in uniform. They sent me a fantastic photo of Lt. Gerald Thurman in a Malcolm Hooded P-51B.

Bob was also kind enough to talk with me over the phone and he tells some neat stories.

Just to bump this thread, I got my pre-ordered copy of Bluenoser Tales yesterday. Well packed, and in a good secure shipping box.

Thicker book than I thought it would be, and chock-full of first person accounts. Good photos as well.

I don't have a lot of time right now - a painting calls - so I'll save the formal "review" for the experts, but suffice it to say that I sat down just to flip through it and THREE hours later I finally got up from the couch. Can't wait to read the whole thing! Well done, guys! :supz:
