HA-1112 on the mend:

Darryl Bond's TF-51 getting a strip & paint (same markings I'm told). Doesn't look like it needs it, but the paint is over 18 years old and the plane is flown regularly:

Guess the identities of the three "Mustangs" in these photos (hint- the nearest one was flying less than 3 months ago):

The winner gets Jack's pony. Shhhh... Don't tell Jack! You can tell the pony though- he'll be relieved.

P.S. Mike Shreeve knows the answer I suspect, so give someone else a chance!

Hey BDK,

Do you have any pull with Steve Hinton to get him to start a Fighter Rebuilders' web page? There's a lot of good restoration shop's web pages out there, unfortunetly for us not one from Fighter Rebuilders

I'm not going to fall for that one! That's called volunteering where I come from...

You could check the POF website for the POF projects like the HA-1112 and the O-47 or ask on the POF forum:

You'd also be surprised who lurks here on the WIX...

And all the way from France! Shipping isn't included for the pony you know. That's going to cost you a fortune!

bdk,

The pony is already sitting on Ol' 927's nose-just ferry him over that way! :)

Hey Brandon,

Is there a 'D'-model project still in the Fighter Rebuilders shop? Steve H told me it 'came from Mike Bogue's place' when I was there in the summer.

Are they working on the Paul Allen Zero again? I thought I saw some progress on other recent photos posted on here.

Thanks for posting the photos, and Happy New Year to you.

Not in the main shop itself yesterday, but they've got them things scattered all over the airport. I spied some assembled wings in a T-hangar that they rent last week.

The Zero was all buttoned up and complete looking (less final paint). Not sure what else needs to be done inside though.

Thanks for the holiday wishes! Sames to youse and yoorins!

Thanks Brandon.

I'll probably swing by and take a look for myself later this afternoon, as we're down in the area and have a couple of spare hours before our flight back to Oakland this evening.

I know it's mandatory that you keep airframe time but the picture #4 method seems a bit primitive to me.

Mudge the progressive

Wouldn't be too suprized if those sheets were accumulated at a regular interval and either added to or logged into the aircraft file. When you have different people working on different days on the project, it's an easy reference for all to see and keep track of the activities on each aircraft.

I guess I was a bit too subtle. I meant the wall clock.

Mudge the obtuse :?

Brandon, some questions about Allen's Zero:

1) Can you confirm that it still has the -1830 in it? I know at one point there was serious consideration about putting the Sakae back in it. I thought that Allen bought the running Sakae that the MOF/Flight Magic had.

2) Does the two seater have dual controls, or just one set of controls and two seats?

3) Any rough idea on when the first test flight might be? Yea, I know, I know, it will be ready when it's ready, etc, etc. But are we talking months or years? That Zero has been sitting there for many years now.

Thanks for the pictures!

Oh, one more question, how is the progress on the P-59? Do they expect to have it flying by this years Chino airshow?
