My Dad's WWII pics

My dad was based in France and Germany before the end of the war, he was with Troop Transport and was a crew chief on a C-47.

Maybe because they would get in the way when poking around fixing things? Not sure.

I think its so the Prop wash will have a harder time taking their hats off.

They did it to keep the cap on their head. if you ever wore one you would realize it imediately.
