Saw an F-84 Thunderbird at Willow Grove today 12/19/07

I was passing by Willow Grove JRB this morning heading south on 611 and at the end of the ramp there was an F-84 in a faded Thunderbirds paint scheme. Any ideas as to whats up with this craft?

A couple of years ago I had read (I think in the Philadelphia Inquirer) that Willow Grove was getting one for static display at the Delaware Valley Historic Aviation Museum.

I was doing about 50 when I passed it and I did not have a clear view. It looks like the same model 84 as your picture.

The one today was very faded .

See above newsletter for additional information on the F-84. The collection has come a long way and many of the aircraft are special (ME-262, Cutlass, Convair Seadart, etc.)
