I just opened the latest edition of TRADE-A-PLANE, and listed under Warbirds-Jet is an ad for a BAC/English Electric Lightning. The photo is XS422 in flight. I know the aircraft hasn't flown yet, but it's advertised as close to flight. How close? I guess those guys down in Mississippi, or where ever, ran out of $$$$? The aircraft is offered for sale or part ownership. Who's got the skinny?

Not at all. I just have a subscription to trade-a-plane and I am more focused on Jet Warbirds. I was glad to help

Would the operating cost on this be close or comparable to an F-4? Or less? Is the example in S.A. still flying?

It is a share or part ownership they are selling, they need $$$ to see the project through to operational shape
