Dick Wilson, the actor and pitchman who played the uptight grocer begging customers "Please, don't squeeze the Charmin," died on Monday. He was 91.

He was born in England in 1916, the son of a vaudeville entertainer and a singer. He moved to Canada as a child, serving in the Canadian Air Force during World War II, and became a U.S. citizen in 1954...

interesting trivia!! he was a big part of my childhood watching the tube, i always got a kick out of those commercials. what did he do in the caf??

"Less well known was Wilson's service during the Second World War as a decorated bomber pilot, flying dozens of missions over Germany and Burma for the Royal Canadian Air Force and Britain's RAF, Melanie Wilson told Reuters.

She said her father, who was wounded in combat and shot down more than once, rarely talked about his military service."
