F-4's in Desert Storm

Greetings
I was wondering were their any Navy F-4's that Flew off of Aircraft Carriers during Storm ? Or were they all Wild Weasels in the US Air Force ? Any body have any photos of them at that time ?

Navy F-4s and Marine F-4s were retired by then. Only USAF F-4G and ANG RF-4s flew.

try looking up USAF Wild Weasel Gulf War , F-4G , will get many answers.
561st and 562nd sqns from 37th TFW were in use. Also 52th TFW from USAFE.

Navy retired the last of the F-4S in 1986 on the USS Midway.

USMC flew into 1992 but deployed no F-4S to Gulf in 1991.

Alot of the F-4G are now long gone droned and shot down.

There are three examples of F-4's in the NMUSAF. One was the mount of Col. Olds during Vietnam, and the other two served as wild weasels in Desert Storm. On the one aricraft it says "From Hanoi to Bahgdad". A true combat vet.

Idaho ANG Operated the last F-4G's, (in fact the last Phantom's in the air force) from 1991 - 1996. Served multiple tours for Operations Southern Watch and Provide Comfort before being retired.

Recce Phantoms from Bergstrom AFB out of Austin Tx were deployed at that time, and they were active duty AF, and not ANG.

The last time I was there, an RF-4C Desert Storm Vet, was also there.
And an RF is NOT a Wild Weasel, but rather it's referred to as a "Rhino".

The RFs were Alabama ANG out of Birmingham. The jets were left in country and the High Rollers of Nevada rotated in to fly the Birmingham boy's jets. One RF-4 and crew was lost when they flew into a sand dune.

I'm sorry, but I can't tell if you agree or disagree that the Bergstrom RFs were also over there.
I know that they were, and that unit was active duty, and not guard.

And I do realize that the RF in the museum is NOT a Bergstrom jet.

I just wanted to be clear on this.

Does anyone know if there were any F-4 combat losses during the gulf war & operations? I saw where it was stated one flew into a sand dune.
