Greetings
I was wondering if any body might know what happen to the PBY that was based their in the late Eighty's / Early Nintys out of Red Bird Airport out side of Dallas Texas. I was told that it belong to a Dr that used it to fly to Alaska to go Fishing . Dose anybody have a Photo of this Bird ?
P.S. what happen to the PBY that was at Love Field (Dallas TX) for many years >?

The only PBY in Dallas I know of owned by a Doctor was sold in the mid-1990s and it went to Europe where it's still flying but I can't remember which one it is. However, that aircraft was based during the late '80s and early '90s at Lancaster where he built a hangar for it next door to the CAF hangar, which he was a part of and used to fly the PBY at airshows with.

Is this the one?
It was everywhere in North Texas for a while. I saw it at Meacham, Redbird, Lancaster, Tyler, Waco...

It is indeed now in Europe...it seems to be stagnant right now..this quote from Catalina.org.uk
Further to the above, Super Catalina Restoration’s other Catalina, PBY-5A N423RS, remains at Lee’, complete but un-flown since it arrived there from Duxford in November 2001. Persistent rumours are that it has been sold to an American owner but nothing more is known on this score.

FYI "the registry" seems to be out of date...

That PBY is indeed still at Lee on Solent. It came to Europe and was used by Greenpeace for a while before going to Duxford for temporary storage whilst a buyer was found. It then flew to Lee as described above, just prior to which it was painted in an approximation of an RAF colour scheme with the serial JV928. Not to be confused with another UK-based Catalina that had flown as JV928 in the 1980s.

There was another PBY that lay derelict at Fort Worth, Tx in the late 1960s. This was N6473C, a PBY-5A ex-BuAer46527. Whilst not the same aircraft as illustrated above and now in the UK, I would nonetheless be interested to know of its eventual fate. Probably scrapped as the photo I have of it shows it to be derelict.
