If you haven't heard of this series of books, you will love them. Bruce Barrymore Halpenny GHOST STATIONS series. I found them in a little book store in York England in 1990. they are a very entertaining series (vol 1 to 7) of ghost stories that are all related to WW II.

I can vouch for one volume of this series at least, fantastic read and a damm creepy book. The often used phrase "Can't put it down" really applies to these books.

One I remember distinctly related to a woman who's brother was killed on Ops over Germany flying Halifax's. A few years after the war, she answered the door one night and saw him standing in front of her, she asked why he came back and the ghost said " Everyone gets one chance to come back to see a loved one".

He was checking to see if she was alright.

Gave me goose bumps to read the sentance " Everyone gets one chance to come back to see a loved one".
