THanks for posting the link.
I hope they are giving some TLC to the Fury.
It use to be in the New England Air Museum's collection until about 10-12 years ago.

Yanks has an amazing collection. I noticed the photographer made note of the "brightly lit hangars". Hello Natl Museum of the USAF are you seeing these!!

Even though the interior is nicely lit, I dont feel the actual hanger complements the aircraftt within. Get something up on the walls Yanks!

This seems like this is a factor with a few museums.

Now if the collection was mostly flying, then I wouldnt really mind. :wink:

The mony that would go to making the museum interior more exciting, would be used to maintain the warbirds.

So you are saying that instead of restoring the Corsair or the Helldiver (or obtaining a Privateer, a Catalina and an Albatross in the past year) they should spend that money on wallpaper? :roll:

Definitely a different style...

I will admit that although taking pictures is harder in the museums with an "ambiance", I do find them more enjoyable.

I would call this one more of a hangar than a museum...

But that's very personal, of course and we are talking subtelties here. They are planes and as such, always interresting, whatever the setting ! :wink:

Hi there,

I'm glad you appreciated the photo's. Here's a few more from the same location.

WRT the white hangers, personally I find it great from the point of view of photography and also giving it the look and feel of an active collection. Having walked around the NMUSAF for 3 days trying to get decent photo's it was certainly a nice change, although I do feel that as a museum the look and setting (darkness!) makes the NMUSAF a special place to visit.
