Awhile back I was reading somewhere online a respected and knowledgeable pilot was saying that most warbirds are pretty straight-forward to learn, but that the P-47 and A-26 took more time and experience for him to teach a new pilot. Anybody know what specific characteristics he was talking about?

Well, you don't flare an A-26 like you do other aircraft. It has a laminar wing and you land it in more of a flat attitude.
