OK, it's not a warbird, but it's almost as much fun to fly as a fighter plane! Anyway, I just had to paint one, so I've added a nice Pitts shirt to the ol' gift shop. (The back of the shirt has a nice plan/side view) This particular plane is the stock version of a friend's S-2C, which has since been repainted and modified for competition aerobatics. It originally shipped with the classic Pitts paint. Enjoy!

Excellent! I will order one of those for sure.

Brett Hunter's Pitts that you have drawn was the 1st Pitts I ever flew, and I have been hooked ever since.

Yes, I'm a Pitts fanatic. Nice work. Thanks!

Small world, Jaybird! Brett's plane is the first Pitts I ever flew, as well. I think it has ruined me for any other plane! Sadly, I don't think it's in the budget. (Starving artist, right?) But I'm thankful to have had the experience.

I've been working on some promo materials for Brett, so this art was actually something that grew out of it. Check out his site at pittsfreak.com next month and see all the new eye candy...

There was a Pitts pilot at he Nashua Airport in New Hampshire and i always enjoyed watching him mess around the airport. He was an amazing pilot.

That's cool Fritz. In case you didn't already know, Stewarts Air Service (Waynesville) acquired an S2A for dual, and they're very $-reasonable....in case you feel the need!

Now draw up a Pitts flying inverted over a Corsair for a shirt, and I'll buy one for every occasion!

Arggh, you've just reminded me, I still haven't done a Corsair shirt.

So many planes, so little time...

I have around 100hrs in a S2B and it was an absolute blast to fly for less than an hour. After an hour it became a torture chamber as I'm a big guy and the back pit is so tight. Also has the flimsiest canopy ever designed. Don

First two things I was taught when I was getting checked out in an S2B.

1.) Never take the key out of the ignition-because you'll always find it in your pocket after you have both harnesses and your parachute on.
2.) Close the canopy - because insurance doesn't pay for it when you crank it up and it rips off.

:D

So true! I flew a B for 6 years, and I betcha I strapped in with the key in my pocket at least 7 or 8 times!

The other thing I learned was...when going XC, always take a piece of hose with you to help fill it up when the nozzle on the self-service fuel bowser in the middle-of-nowhere won't fit between the wing and the tank filler neck.

Oh, and always quadruple check the position of the fuel cap cam before rolling inverted...
