What museums or collections out there that might be interested in obtaining an early naval fighter aircraft? The aircraft has been restored to flying condition but has not yet been flown, so preference would be given to organizations wanting to fly the aircraft. I’ve already talked with a few groups, but I know there are more that I haven’t thought of. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Hi Curtis

Our Museum might be very interested, but it depends if it fits our collections policy and acquistion list.

An can understand your apprehension on passing too much publicly but if you would like to send me a pm with a little more information I would appreciate it.

On the DL right now. I'll see what I can do. There are a few prospective buyers (that are draging there feet) and we don't want to offend them. :? Unfortunatly its not my airplane. I'd put it on the open market and let interested parties fight over it.

I wouldn't take this too seriously. I've talked to him and he claims it is, if I recall correctly a Boeing F4B (or some other early Boeing attempt at a fighter of this era), but essentially a replica with some purported original parts included. They actually want to 'donate' it in exchange for about 1.3 million dollars. If it could, would, should be flown is open to debate depending on what has been done, how well and what else needed to be done.
