While on the discussion of Mr Roush changing the paint on his one mustang, I came to think of how the work is coming along on his P-51B. I know that I saw pix of it on here some time ago, just wondering how far along it is. Maybe see it at GML? Thanx all.

My suspicion is that the P-51B will take on the Old Crow paint, while the P51D currently wearing the Old Crow paint will take on different colors. But I could be wrong...

My $$$ says the D will become John England's "Missouri Armada"
since the 'B' was originally to painted has his P-51B "U've Had It!"

Jack doesn't own the Old Crow that flies here in the U.S. 44-74774/N6341T Any more.

He does still own Gentleman Jim 44-74230/N551J, which flew as Glamorous Glen III for a while before becoming Gentleman Jim.

All I know is that when I talked to some Roush folk at Thunder over Michigan, they said it was coming along well and they hoped to be done for the gathering.

...possibly more B/C models at the Gathering next week?

Just last night I was looking at the list of P-51s attending the GML and
noticed one I was not familiar with. 44-73142, named E Pluribus Unum.
There was a Bluenose with that name flown by Lt. Ray Littge.

TJ is this the one you are referring to? :? or is there another? :D

It will be great to have another P-51 out flying and especially one that has a different look from the D models. It doesn't look like they are going for authenticity on the panel, but maybe the paint scheme will be a historically accurate one. I'm sure it will be up to the high standards of Jack's other planes.I have seen an original Malcom hood, but don't think I have ever seen one on a plane. I'd love to fly one and see what the visibility is like. A D model has excellent visiblity.

Hmmm,

Just ran into Jack here in the lobby at work.
He said he may not be able to get to fly it by the end of the year.
But it was coming along nicely.

Then he got into his Premier and off he went, GO SOX!
