Warbirds spotted on Google Earth

I did a search in WIX , so I don't think this was posted before. Go to Google Earth, look up Camp Mackall in NC. Go about 3 miles southeast from the big paved runways to a large dirt airstrip. There are 3 planes there. Theyare tagged as Run down planes. One looks like an F-15. I would post the link but, I don't know how.

The three you pointed out here I don't have in the Locator. They will be after tonight.

Just to the north is a UH-1. That one is in the Locator.

OK, I believe I've been "captured" in a plane by a satellite, and I have a warbird sat photo involved to boot.

Here's something that came as quite a neat surprise to me:

I was looking at another site- http://local.live.com/ - that I find most times has a better resolution than google earth. Anyways, I was looking at some of my old stomping grounds down in FL that I still visit regularly when I found an image of a friend's red & white Pitts ready to take off at his airpark. So, since I fly it every trip down, I wondered if I might be in it just by the odd chance, and wondered how I could get a date of when the photo was taken. I happened to remember that on one flight, there was Corsair bu#97395 was at F45 for some type of instrument maintenance. So.....low and behold, when I scrolled down to the airport, there was the Corsair sitting out on the ramp! The images must have been captured on 4/25 this year. Here they are:

The Yankee Air Force at Willow Run.

The the local.live "Birds eye view" feature has a slightly more up to date look at the airpark. It shows the space where the hangar was and the empty spot where the F-105 (destroyed in the fire, it was in the hangar) sat.

It still shows the F-8 (Taken back to Wright-Pat for reassignment), the Boeing 720 Sim (now undergoing full restoration) and the PB4-Y before its paint job. The airpark has been a busy place this season.

I can assure you that it is a 727. I know the person that removed the engines.
