We are looking at two themes for next years Thunder over Michigan Air show. They are WWII US Army Air Corp or WWII US Navy. Both would work well for next years show. We plan to do both in future years, but which one would you like to see next year?

The good thing about the AAC theme is we are planning on having the battle back (bigger and better) next year and this would go well together.

Okay, either would be great, I voted Navy only for the reason that AAC aircraft have been featured big time the last couple of years as things have turned out. I am sure there will still be sufficient numbers of AAC aircraft for the ground attack scenes.....lets see some of those Wildcats, Hellcats,Bearcats,Tigercats,Corsairs, TBMs, SBDs,PBYs,SNJs, and some first generation Navy jets. Heck, you could even throw in the VWoC Swordfish for a foreign flavour.

Just my $.02.

I voted for Navy because I like Naval Aviation. It would be cool if you could get an F-18 demonstration team to go with and do a Naval Aviation Heritage flight (At Dayton they had an F-18 flying with a Corsair).

I'll go with Navy, AAC is generally well featured, and though it is enjoyable, seeing a bunch of Navy birds together would be nice. Is there a British Wildcat/Martlett around that could be in the show? That'd be enough to bring me there! One thing I'd suggest is bring some of the British/Canadian planes too, such as the Swordfish if it's flying by then, CWH Firefly and PBY. Just my thoughts on the subject. Can't wait!

AAC for me- how about the thought of a heritage flight with an A-10, P38, P47, P51 and F86. 8) :D 8) :D
Not sure if they have ever done or are allowed to do a 5 ship formation but it would be cool.

Hmmm,

I went with the USN theme because I like the idea of the P-40 get together at Geneseo, no need to compete with a similar idea, I guess.

See you at both!

I know I am not much of a Navy guy. But you can get so much more aircraft if you go with the AAC theme. IMHO.

I love all WW2 a/c, but voted for "navy" because I remember well the "cat" flights from Kalamazoo. Would love to see that type of flight revived.
Also, ask/get Howard Pardue to fly ANY of his Navy a/c - always a terrific, clean routine from Howard.

Voted for the Navy aircraft. This year was a big year for AAC type aircraft because of the 60th anniversary of the air force. That and it's been a couple of years now since the Avenger gathering and I'd love to see a focus on some of the naval aircraft again.

There is plenty of opportunity for a variety of aircraft as well; Avenger, Corsair, Wildcat, Hellcat, Bearcat, Tigercat (please!), Helldiver, Dauntless, Duck, Firefly, Sea Fury, Harpoon, PBY, Albatross, Goose, and so on.

Which ever way it turns out, thanks for polling some of the fans to get our input.

Yeah, like a hundred or so Mustangs... yawn... About as exciting as a ramp full of Cessnas.

Go round. Go Navy. 8)

Either theme is fine as long as there is a large representation of many types of WWII Army or WWII Navy/Marine Aircraft for the chosen theme.

As always the key to a good T.O.M. show is a strong theme and a good mix of other warbirds present outside the theme (jets, etc.)

Looking forward to next August. :)
