Very nice- Thank you.

I never knew there were windows in the back of the chin turrets of B-17G's (first picture).

What were they for?

You can never say Tex Hill didn't get all the "GOODIE" out of his airplanes!

That's the artwork Mike Smith was going to put on the
EVG B-17 before he died. My pleas to carry out Mike's
wishes fell on deaf ears.

Very interesting photos and really neat, thanks Jack.

I am building up a section on my website covering the histories of the many stations and depots, etc used by the RNZAF in WWII. As our fighter squadrons used both Ondonga and Munda as operational bases, would you mind please if I used those two photos of on my site when I get the Pacific Stations page up and running? I've never come across coloured shots of those bases before. I'd really appreciate it, and of course you'd get a creditation.

Do you know when they were taken?

Question: Can anyone tell me anything about the type of helmet seen in the 2nd picture. Never seen that type before.

Question: Judging from the (at least) two motion picture cameras on the right side of the picture of the B29A in China, was this the initial arrival of B29's in China or an "event" related to the first B29 combat sortie, or...?

Thanks in advance for your answers.

These slides were taken by a Engineering Officer on a tour of the Pacific Airfields. I have his set of 188 slides of Central
and south Pacific airfields. Aircraft, dispersals reventments construction ect.
The bottom p-40K shot is part of the series

Garage sale for $5.00 about 20 years ago.
I've been offered a bit of $$$ for them but have hung on to them.
There about the only originals left after our fire.
