Paul Mantz Crash and Blood Alcohol Content

Mon Aug 20, 2007 5:10 pm

I just added some content to my Tallmantz pages after John Boyle passed along some research he did into elevated BAC after an accident, particularly a desert accident. It could resolve some long standing questions about how Mantz could have had a measured BAC of 0.13 after the July 1965 crash when witnesses reported no apparent impairment of Mantz, and his secretary reported that Mantz had only had few drinks the prior evening.

Scott,

A very interesting read. If you'll recall, after the AA crash in Cali, the same perverted speculation arose due to the bodies being exposed to the jungle heat for a couple of days. Of course, the media didn't use the same zeal in recanting the story as they did in their original speculation.
