This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Looking for CH-54 pictures for the registry, especially those aircraft still in use for firefighting and/or other commercial use.

The specific aircraft I am looking for at the moment is 66-18412 which is supposed to be at Mississippi Armed Force Museum, anybody have a picture or know its status.

A little off topic, but I work next to DNR in WA state. They are flying a bunch of Cobra's for fire suppression. They are also renting part of one of our hangars. We got more Snakes around here than you can shake a stick at. I'll see if I can shoot you some Pix and gather some S/N's. Would you prefer that I post them or send the copy straight to you?

You better get the pics fast. These birds are crashing at an alarming rate on fires. It's been estimated that the few remaining will all be heaps in less than 10 years at current accident rates.

Huh? Rogers/Heavy Lift Helicopters in California has crashed at least 3 and maybe 4 CH-54A's on fires. They only have one left. They just crashed one about 3 weeks ago with a suspected rotor part failure. Last year they lost the tailrotor on one and a few years before that one of them slung a blade. Erickson loses one or two ships a year on fires. Where you from??????
