KC-97 Cockpit Section

Wed Aug 01, 2007 4:59 pm

Earlier this year there was a KC-97 Cockpit section forsale on Ebay.

Does anyone know if this was sold or did the guy indeed scrap it?

Real shame if he did scrap it. I think the price was a bit steep when compared to the price of scrap. Especially when you take into account transporting it. Call me crazy but I'd love (neighbors wouldn't) to graft a KC-97 cockpit onto my house. Can you believe I got a "OK" from the wife? Anyways, I'd restore it and make a office out of it. 8)

I'll keep my eyes open I guess.

Terriffic idea Shay! Wouldn't a big cockpit section grafted to the house would be an awesome home office for guys like us? Especially if you lived on a high spot with a view.
Somebody with techie know-how photoshop this for us.

There was an article on a C-97 cockpit attached to a house just like you want. I think it was in Warbirds (EAA) magazine about 15 years ago. The guy had to have it lifted over his house with a crane to get it in the back yard.
It was pretty cool though.

Shay,
What I meant was suggesting that someone techno savvy (not me for shure) shoot a photo of a C/KC nose and digitally attach it to a photo of a house.
