Was just running some WIX traffic numbers and thought you all might find this interesting. For July (not including today) we had 90,000+ visits from 20,000+ unique visitors (that means roughly that there are 6 times as many lurkers as registered members, roughly) with 20% being first time visitors. I found it interesting to see where they came from (98 different countries are represented), here are the top 15.

1. United States 64,284
2. United Kingdom 7,494
3. Canada 6,521
4. Australia 3,692
5. France 1,165
6. Germany 1,059
7. New Zealand 970
8. Netherlands 951
9. Belgium 738
10. Finland 722
11. Sweden 441
12. Switzerland 397
13. Norway 223
14. Czech Republic 195
15. Japan 183

And for the site (WRG, Registry, WIX etc...) as a whole, daily visits:
July 2006: 3-4,000 visits per day
July 2007: 6,500-7000 visits per day

And this is all due to you guys. I'm feel honored that all of you have chosen to hang out here. Thanks guys, gals, and those that have yet to make a decision!

You have come along way Scott. If I remember right you opened this site after the Warbird Worldwide site closed. I do remember a WW Refugee site site in between, was that you as well?

Thanks for giving us a home.

Those numbers are rigged......I demand a recount!!

There is no way Canada has 6,521 vistors

That's like their entire population right? They must have Wi-Fi at all the ice fishing holes.

Good onya guys, WIX is a one of a kind place. Lets keep it that way.

Hey, I only get to visit the site in 12-hour bursts...if Brad P would get over here, we could DOUBLE the Afghanistan traffic!

Never mind Japan, what's with all those Finns? There's some great a/c in Finland, but I'd never have expected there to be enough WIX viewers to put Finland in the top 15.

I'm not surprised that there's only 1/20th the number of viewers in Aus to the USA; like the small number of Kiwis, we'll have to emphasise quality rather than quantity. ;)

More serious for a moment, it's very interesting, and it's good to see how international WIX really is - which is a good thing.

Thanks to Scott.

Airic - The interim website was 'Vintage Aviator', which came between WW and WIX. VA was not set up by Scott, but he very kindly uplifted the ex-WW & VA traffic after VA was closed due to legal reasons, for which we owe thanks.

Regards,

Unfortunately, I'm still sitting at Mildenhall on a very short leash! Looks like I'll miss the glories of Bagram this trip but I can claim that I logged on from Iraq on two occasions!

Dang, the swedes are two places ahead of us. And twice as many hits...
I really need to rally the troops here. And by the way Sweden, we also want Jemtland and Härjedalen (formerly Norwegian territory, now part of Sweden) back right now... :axe:

Nicely done, Scott! You run a great site and you and your moderators do a great job of keeping it pleasant to read.

To add to your comment about the lurkers, while at Oshkosh, I met many, many folks that said they'd seen the progress of the B-24 on WIX. However, most of them mentioned that they were "only lurkers" and didn't post anything. So, I found it interesting that there were so many others out there that are watching what we say and do here on WIX. Either way, it's a true testiment to what a great Warbird Forum you've got going here. Thanks!

Gary
