Dear All,

I'm pretty sure that all of the F-111s and EF-111s have been retired and sent to sleep in the desert BUT on the off chance I missed an active ANG squadron I thought I'd ask - are there any F-111's flying in the US or Canada?

Thanks,

Tom P.

None in the USAF, AF Reserve, or ANG.

 oh well - do you think the Aussies would be willing to come to Utah for an airshow?? LOL!

I ask because I am already working on the 2005 show - Wendover is where the 509th CG trained and 2005 will be the 60 year mark. I was thinking how cool it would be to get a A/C from the post war period that the 393rd Squadron flew. Guess I need to focus on getting a B-2 fly-by!

thanks!

The last Pigs [F-111C/RF-111C/F-111G's] are still flying with 1 and 6 Sqns RAAF based at Amberley AFB near Brisbane. They held an airshow last w/end and the 111's put on a fantastic display including a very, very low level dump and burn routine.....

I'm sure they'd love to go to your show but it's the $$$$$. They are going to Red Flag again soon I believe.. 8)

never know, time it to coincide with red flag and you might be in luck. although a good proportion of the F111's are in storage and or rebuild and or maintenance usually.

now to hope for enough interest for a full on airshow here in south australia.

Just to remind you poor Yanks what you have lost, here's a pic I snapped on last Saturday afternoon at RAAF Base Amberley.... :P

Got to love that neat "party trick" of dumping & burning!.

Cheers
