Bastards!!!

Just kidding....atleast someone will take care of her. That will be a heck of an undertaking just to ship down there. She'll be used as parts for the C-121 already there? and be restored to static? Or just stripped to the bone?

I'd love to see someone rescue the Greenland Connie named Pegasus from her frozen tomb. Bet she's well preserved.

Please read the link:

"The Connie will support the organization's airworthy C-121C VH-EAG and be part of the HARS museum. Its great news that another Connie facing an uncertain future will be saved"

the news doesnt actually say if she will be as parts or as a full static tho does it...? does ANYONE know?

Considering HARS maybe acquiring a 707 which has long been a favourite after the Connie for them as a museum item they will one day have the room for all their birds in the ever expanding newly been builting extra hangers...

Now seeing 2 connie taxining would be something but consdering the first Connie costed $1.35-2m to restore i understand i dont think HARS currently has that kind of money...

I do find it odd consdiering it is a USAF AWAC bird... they will be stripping her of AWACS mods?

Thanks John, I did read the link.

And as SD posted "will be used to support the C-121" which which to me suggests used as parts. And be part of the Museum? Sounds like a static or partial museum,....walk-through?

So maybe the answer to all my questions is "YES"

Either way sure beats getting turned into beer cans.

Unless that's their plan all along  :

When I was in Oz a couple of years ago, I took a liking to XXXX beer. Didn't care much for Foster's.

Cheers!

FAA informed them that they would not issue an airworthiness certificate, so the restoration (to flight) work on the aircraft was stopped.

And, by the way, I'm a Coopers man when it comes to the beer.

That photo of Precious Metal shows that they use Fosters as part of the water injection system for the RR Griffin.

Cheers,
