Mon Jul 09, 2007 11:35 pm

I remember along time ago seeing a C-47 in Dday colors called "The Buzz Bunny" whatever happened to this plane? I loved seeing the Dday colors.

The CAF had a “Buzz Buggy” C-47 25 or more years ago.

That Monogram kit sure created a fan base for Buzz Buggy. Her fate was discussed here a while back...

Uh-oh, two Nathans in one thread!

That’s what someone told me around 20 years ago. I think there were some corrosion issues.

Yes, and the R4D-6S "Ready4Duty" is it's replacement, originally painted similarly and named "Rebel Rouser" before it's Navy Data Plate was found and it repainted into Navy colors as it is today.

More information on the interlinked history of the two airplanes can be found of the DFW Wing's site -

http://www.dfwwing.com/R4D.html The link between the two is about half way down the page just under the picture of the R4D when it was painted as "Rebel Rouser" just after being acquired from the US Navy/US Forestry Service in 1981.
