The Adventure begins

We departed Ft Collins yesterday morning after spending the entire day Wednesday fixing the left mag on #1. After doing one last flight out of Ft. Collins we loaded the airplane and headed to Jefco to give her a well deserved bath. It was then off to Spirit of St Louis for our first fuel stop.

We started at 8am...departing Spirit at around 9am... a moment of panic ensued as I went to photograph our preflight when my Nikon took a dump...fortunately it was just a dead battery!!!

techically we were the 3rd Mitchell there...I can't begin to describe how cool it was to taxi in amongst all the other warbirds

Some of those shots look like scenes from 30 seconds over Tokyo. Very cool.

The head on mass pass was spectacular from the ground. I’m so glad I was ablw to witness it. Everyone did a great job.

Nice photos Jim. I bet you guys are having a lot of fun. In the second photo it looks like you are cruising at almost 9400'. I bet that was nice and cool!
