Took a few seconds out of a hetic day to take a couple of pics of the 61, and I thought I'd share. Unfortunately, WWII weekend is the once-a-year opportunity to take a decent picture of it turned the right way without B-25, N3N, Ercoupe, or T-6 in the shot.

We had hoped to get the vertical fin we've been working on display out in the hangar, but unfortunately, it isn't complete enough to remove it from the fixture. We've also been working on the tailbooms but are awaiting stringers back from heat treat...

Well, time to grab some sleep for tomorrow. Nows the best time to see the 61, hope to see some of you guys posting better pics of this thing than mine come Monday morning!!

Got a flash for you. B-25, N3N, Ercoupe, and T-6 notwithstanding, There AIN'T GONNA' be better pics than the ones you took with about 800 people standing in front of the plane. We'll be there tomorrow. I hate to keep going on about the weather but TSTMS are predicted for both days. The Mudges may make an earlier than planned return home. Like I said, it's a nice show but not worth getting soaked and stomping through mud.

I am completely totally jealous! Just take a look at that hangar floor! It’s cleaner then my house. Well that isn’t saying much. Our hangar usually looks like New Orleans after Katrina. Keep up the good work.

I am sure everyone who has experienced the MAAM WWII weekend will agree that they treat everyone very well. Unilke our pal Mudge, I was "lucky" enough to have terrific sunny weather on my one & only visit there.

I just got in the door about half an hour ago. THe weather was fine all day during the show. I did hit scattered showers on my way back to NJ and saw some serious lightning.

I left around 4pm...Aircraft there were:

Catalina, 2 B-25's, BAHF C-54, C-47, TBM, Val Replica, Yak, P-40, B-17, and the usual assortment of trainers.


The widow looked fantastic. It looks better every year. The only thing that bugged me was a pushy P-61 volunteer trying to convince me to empty my pockets... (Of course I donated some $ anyway, but I chose to come back when he wasnt there...)

It was a fantastic show as usual.
