Periscopic Sextant Available for Museum

Sat Jul 07, 2007 1:06 pm

The Tanker Base Manager for the Oregon Division of Forestry at Medford just handed me something interesting. Its a Kolsman aircraft periscopic sextant in the original wooden carrying case. The sextant has a yellow tag that indicates that it was inspected on "Jan 17 1984".It appears to be in mint condition. An ex-USAF person gave this to Phil Hufstader (the ODF guy) with instructions to try to find an aircraft museum that would appreciate it for display.I asked Phil if a flying warbird would qualify. He seemed to think that it might.

The tag on the box, which matches the info on the yellow tag reads:

Sextant Aircraft Periscope
