Hi Fans of Yellow Perils everywhere.

West Houston Squadron of the CAF is looking for a thingamajiggee for the Carb. Heat Plenum flapper valve.
We have a Lycoming R-680 engine with what has been described as an AT-10 carb. heat set-up.

More specifically, the lever on the inside of the plenum that opens and closes the flapper valve.
I have included a couple of pictures that shows the plenum box I am talking about AND the part itself.
Ours has worn the retaining pin down and it still leaves the valve about 1/2 Inch open when the lever is in the FULL CLOSED position.

This wouldn't be so bad, except that working carb. heat is something no pilot should leave home without.

If we can't find one we can repair ours, but if anybody has one, or knows where we can find one it would sure get us flying sooner.

Thanks,
Don Price

Spanner,
You might try the Mid-Atlantic Air Museum as they have an N3N. Their website is maam.org

Jeff,
I hadn't forgotten...
I tried the N3N-3 Yahoo group first, BUT my message bounced for some revoltin' reason or another.
I will try it again.

I may have to ask for floats too. Man it is getting soggy around here!

thanks,
SPANNER
