awesome footage & choreography. is the saratoga still radioactive from the post war "A" bomb tests???

Well I don't see any 3 eyed fish in the video. :lol:

I remember watching a special on the Baker blast and them saying that it took 3 days (?) for the Sara to finally sink. It took the Nagato 5 days to slip beneath the waves

Many great family memories associated with the Saratoga.
Like transfering from the liberty boat to the aft accomadation ladder
while anchored off Palma, Spain was certainly exciting!

Lets say in 15-20' seas and 30 knots of wind it's all in the timing :?
Time it wrong and you're either flying or swimming or flying then swimming with that 30' of travel. :shock: :?
It actually got so bad they flew us off in a CH-53 a couple of times.

in the photo what 2 carriers are they? i cant work out the CV numbers at all?

I thought all carriers were scrapped? are they been saved for museums? i do hope so...
