Does anyone know what aircraft will be there on static display? The website is a bit sparse and as it says "it will probably always be under construction". If anybody in the area has never been there, it has always been a pretty cool show for an airport as small as Goshen! Parking your car out in the grassy areas amongst the Amish buggys seems to be the norm :D

I know that I will be there with the T-6 and C-45. I also know that Eric is planning on bringing the Skyraider and Mike Gillian is bringing his FM-2. Not sure on the rest.

The CAF Minnesota Wing is also bringing their B-25 "Miss Mitchell" and the Indiana Aviation Museum usually brings a couple aircraft. Last year they brought the F4U-5, T-6 and A-37. Not sure about this year, they don't have Goshen on their schedule. The Berlin Airlift Foundation C-54 has an appearance listed at Goshen as "tentative" so that is also a possibility. Unfortunately, I won't be able to make it this year (first time I've missed a Goshen show since the late-90s) so whoever is going have fun and enjoy the show!

Thanks for the info fellas...a B-25 this year will be a nice way to whet everyone's appetite for Thunder! Goshen is always a good time with good people and so easy to get into and out of :D

Looks like good weather for Saturday also!

Very cool Eric and Tim! Do you guys know if they are having you park across the taxiway from the crowdline or will us mere mortals be able to mingle with ya up close and personal? I promise to not drool on either of you fellas beautiful aircraft...although that SPAD is a pretty bird :P Would like to at least buy ya something cold if I run into you :drink3:

Thanks a bunch guys...the weather still looks good...WOOHOO!

Another great turnout of people, planes and some really nice cars!

Had the pleasure of meeting fellow WIXer Kevin with the C-54 organization and Eric with his Spad. Spent a lotta time with the B-25 group learning about the fine people from Minnesota...ya, fer sure :D

As is always the case, Goshen is just a fun time with lots of people there with their kids and seeing the Amish boys talking to an F-18 pilot is a culture shock.

Now if I could just figure out how to post some of the pix I took...

We made many new friends at Goshen, as always the Big Spad is a very useful tool for winning over the hearts and minds of the locals.

Is that Mennonites or Amish ladies sitting by the Spad?

We have a lot of Amish in my area and I did not know they liked warbirds!

I am told Amish, they were as well behaved and interested as any airshow fans I have ever met. At 10:30 when the fireworks were over, there were huge lines of horse drawn buggys and bicycles leaving the crowded parking lots. Quite a sight for someone who doesn't see the Amish community on a regular basis.

I'm posting my shots, well, the ones I am allowed to on ASB so I don't have to mess with photobucket...

"Mennonite" is probably more accurate. "Amish" seems to be the generic term (kind of like "Q-tip" or "Kleenex".) for anyone who doesn't drive a car and for women who wear bonnets. Northern Indiana has large populations of both Mennonites and Amish.

There are about 1.5 million Mennonites, and only about 200,000 Amish in the US. The Mennonites tend to be a bit more....hmmm...liberal?...i guess that's the right word, in comparison to the Amish.

Just got back to NJ after Goshen...

Tim, sorry I didnt see you. Jason our Co-Polit told me he had a very pleasant conversation with you.

Yes, I did have a pleasant chat with 6trn4brn (Forgot your 1st name... )

I have to say Goshen was not at all what I expected. Small Indiana town... not very many dwellings about the ares..I expected a small country show with a moderate to small turnout.... Man was I ever wrong! As predicted by one of the show organizers, after a very short time, you couldnt walk 5 feet down the ramp without rubbing elbows with someone.. What a crowd! WOW! The acts were fantastic! The night show was super as well and the public was gracious and very very polite! It was a very well done event and I hope we get to go back there next year! An excellent well planned event!

The people at Goshen are excellent hosts as well. Can't say enough good things about it. If you get the chance, GO!
